What Are Your Summer Plans?

Written by: Bill Dolan, CMB, AMP

Technically, the summer solstice doesn’t begin until mid-June, but let’s face it, once this weekend rolls around, the beach chairs will come out from the garage, the BBQ grills will be fired up, and most importantly, the coolers will be filled once again.

Summer is often a popular time when you and your team look to relax, be with family and friends or in some cases, several employees may be required to attend national guard training camp each year for several weeks. These annual recurring events, coupled with the normal myriad of countless other time-off reasons such as maternity/paternity leave, medical and family medical leave, family, childcare, and home emergencies, just to name a few, can create a real challenge for lenders and their staffs, in striking a work-life balance between coverage and getting the work done, while providing employee flexibility which is essential in avoiding burnout. Therefore, it is critical that you begin assessing staff availability and coverage now. Do you have the coverage you’ll need? Preparation is vital in navigating the seasonal ebb and flow of your business, especially during the summer season.

To avoid maintaining productivity from slowing down, or missing deadlines, while ensuring customer satisfaction, banks, credit unions, and mortgage bankers have turned to SCA in the past 33 years to provide the subject matter expertise from our seasoned industry professionals, with the knowledge and technical skills that serve as a talent pipeline required to perform needed roles such as: underwriting, pre-closing, closing, investor accounting (reporting, balancing and reconciling), and often most critical, compliance and systems administration, to create a positive impact from day one.
