SCA Taps Robert R. Ellis as Compliance Consultant

Robert R. Ellis is now part of the Spillane Consulting Associates team as a Compliance Consultant.

Robert has worked in the mortgage industry for almost 30 years, primarily as a Compliance Director for mid-sized, regional financial institutions. Robert began his career at the MA Division of Banks and was later a Senior Compliance Examiner for the FDIC. He previously completed consulting engagements with SCA in 2009 and we are excited to have him back on the roster. Mr. Ellis was born in Natick MA, attended UMass Amherst, and lived in the New England Area until relocating to Florida at the end of 2019. He has twin boys entering college in the fall and in his free time you can find him out enjoying the Florida climate.

Because of his 29 years of well-rounded banking and business experience, Robert is fluent in both compliance and mortgage lending. He maintains a current and extensive knowledge of the laws and regulatory guidelines by which financial institutions are required to comply. He is also intimately familiar with the systems, LOS and otherwise, that your institution uses and the ways you can leverage those systems to automate your compliance management. Robert will be working with SCA clients to help them find the optimal systemic compliance management protocol for their mortgage origination operations. Ellis explains: “The goal is to optimize their operating model so it’s as profitable as possible while still remaining compliant. In compliance management, every step costs money; streamlining the process means more money in your pockets.” Robert will also be available to answer any and all of your compliance related questions.
