SCA has been requested to conduct a search for a client in the Boston area to find their next Servicing Manager who will be responsible for building the credit union’s in-house servicing department from inception to operational excellence. This role requires strategic planning, operational expertise and a deep understanding of all mortgage servicing regulations, GSE guidelines (Fannie, FHLB MPF), investor accounting, reconciliation, and reporting including industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Individual will develop and implement the strategic roadmap for establishing and scaling the in-house loan servicing department.

  • Design, and implement policies, procedures, and workflows, to ensure efficient and compliant loan servicing operations.

  • Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team of mortgage servicing personnel.

  • Establish key performance metrics and ensure the department meets service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, IT, Compliance, and Operations to integrate servicing activities seamlessly into overall business operations.

  • Oversees vendor management relationships related to loan servicing ensuring alignment with the institution’s goals and standards.

  • Monitors industry trends, regulatory changes, GSE updates, and technological advancements to continuously improve processes and enhance the member/borrower experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience overseeing a loan servicing department with a proven track record of progressively increasing responsibilities is required.

  • In-depth working knowledge of loan servicing regulations and GSE guidelines (RESPA, Fannie Mae, FHLB MPF program, Escrow Analysis, Loan Boarding) and industry best practices.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with the senior management team, and across departments, with external stakeholders.
